  7.     Spotted the patch directory with the bugfix for exotic tapes? Yep,
  8.     it messed me around more than somewhat during the initial datagrab
  9.     for EuroScene 1. FUNET did their tape with GNU tar on a DAT and
  10.     mailed it to us. It was only when I patched the TAR binary that I
  11.     could get the archive off the tape. So, to save everyone the hass
  12.     of patching the thing themselves, the binary tar.patched is the
  13.     fixed version according to the patch in this distribution. It
  14.     works. It's the one I used for 'Scene. Enjoy.
